Every pair of eyewear that makes it onto our website has undergone a 21 Point Inspection. This is to ensure that the eyewear is genuine, fit for purpose and will still perform it's basic function. To protect your eyes.
After this process, we then give it a grade depending on the damage presented on the frame, lenses and accessories.
The check is performed by experts with an abundance of eyewear knowledge, accompanied by a set of tools to ensure these checks are performed to the highest of levels. These checks range from ensuring the frame is aligned correctly to testing the lenses ability to block UV light.

Frame Structure & Alignment
- Check for any warping, bending, or distortion in the frame.
- Ensure temples (arms) open and close smoothly and symmetrically.
- Test hinge function for tightness or looseness; tighten or replace screws if needed.

Lens Condition
- Inspect lenses under strong lighting for scratches, scuffs, or chips.
- Confirm there is no delamination or peeling of coatings (e.g. mirror, anti-glare).
- Ensure both lenses match in tint and clarity with no optical distortion.
- Check lenses are original and correct for the model.

Authenticity Checks
- Verify logo placement, font, and finish (on temples, lens corner, bridge, etc.).
- Check product passport, for serial numbers, model number, and colour code where applicable.
- Compare product details to official brand specs or reference photos.

Comfort & Fit
- Ensure nose pads are present, even, and not loose or worn.
- Check ear stems for consistent shape, smoothness, and flexibility.
- Confirm the sunglasses sit evenly.

Optical Functionality
- Test for UV400 protection using a UV light and sensor lens.
- Test for polarization using a polarized test card.
- Confirm that any lens enhancements (photochromic, mirrored, etc.) behave as expected.

Cleanliness & Sanitization
- Clean lenses, nose pads, hinges, and ear stems with appropriate non-abrasive cleaner.
- Sanitize all contact surfaces, especially inner temples and nose area.

Accessories & Packaging
- Check for inclusion and suitable condition of branded or generic case.
- Verify availability and suitable condition of cleaning cloth, authenticity cards or paperwork.
- Confirm that outer packaging (if any) is clean, undamaged, and appropriate for resale.
