FAQ

What are Refurbished Sunglasses?

Refurbished at Re-Loved Sunglasses means sunglasses that aren’t brand new from the manufacturer. They’re a range of sunglasses that are sourced and graded from a “like brand new condition” all the way to “Needs Love”. Some sunglasses may have slight defects, some might have been repaired, and some might just be overstocked elsewhere, rescued from being throw away.

Are refurbished sunglasses genuine designer?

Yes. Every pair we sell is an authentic designer product. We source directly from verified suppliers and perform checks to ensure authenticity. We do not stock from the public, this way ensuring complete control over authenticity.

How do you refurbish sunglasses?

Our refurbishment process consists of a 21-point Check, covering:

  • Frame Structure & Alignment
  • Lens Condition
  • Authenticity Checks
  • Comfort & Fit
  • Optical Functionality
  • Cleanliness & Sanitization
  • Accessories & Packaging

Do refurbished sunglasses have scratches or signs of wear?

Some of our pairs do have scratches or signs of wear, but some don't. it all depends on the grade we give to the pair of sunglasses. After our 21 point inspection and refurbishment, we give every pair a grade:

  • Premium: A brand new condition. These are sunglasses that haven't been used previously. These could be rescued overstocks or returned items that weren't worn.
  • Excellent: Nearly brand new condition. These are sunglasses that have barely been used previously. These could be rescued overstocks or returned items where the box may have some damage.
  • Good: Some imperfections. Those that you'd expect after owning your own pair for a little time. This could be a faint scratch that you'd pick up from leaving your sunglasses out of their case. The lenses are perfect.
  • Fair: Refurbished to a level where there are still signs of imperfections. These are on the frame and on the lenses.
  • Needs Love: Visible damage on the frame and lenses and could do with a little TLC.

Yes. Every pair we sell is tested to ensure it meets UV protection standards. We also check lenses meet their original lens technology, such as polarization and photochromic filters.

Buying refurbished or unsold designer stock helps reduce waste, extend the life of high-quality frames, and keep great products out of landfill. It’s not a perfect solution, but it’s far greener than buying new every season.
